The next generation of space exploration is coming, and with it the next generation of space research and technology.

Space represents an out-of-this-world opportunity for research and development, and the International Space Station continues to play a significant role in how microgravity conditions can help humans better understand space and their own world.

In the transition toward clean, renewable energy, there will still be a need for conventional power sources, like coal and natural gas, to ensure steady power to the grid. Singapore invests SGD 12 million to expand blockchain technology research

Singapore has invested SGD12 million in the first national effort to expand blockchain technology research and strengthen the country’s blockchain ecosystem.

Singapore Blockchain Innovation Programme (SBIP) was launched on December 7 by Enterprise Singapore (ESG),  Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the National Research Foundation Singapore (NRF), and supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

Funded by NRF, this national effort aims to align blockchain technology research with the needs of the industry, facilitating the development, commercialisation and adoption of wider real-world applications.

New 5G research lab to be created to help UK replace banned Huawei technology

The UK is to open a new 5G lab so that the country no longer has to rely on the technology of foreign companies like Huawei. 

Digital Secretary Oliver Dowden has unveiled Government plans Monday for a £250 million scheme to develop new secure internet technology in Britain, which includes building a new research facility.

The lab will bring together security experts, businesses and leading academics to pioneer ways to create a more open 5G network that will allow smaller British companies to also develop the vital technology.

The move comes after ministers decided to ban the Chinese telecoms giant
