Somewhat appropriately, participants for the Cannes XR program will gather virtually from around the world this week for the Marche du Film’s three-day event dedicated to virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR) projects.

Running June 24-26, Cannes XR Virtual will see more than 55 pieces presented through virtual art gallery Museum of Other Realities, spanning XR projects in development through to premieres of new works.

Another victim ID’d in unsolved Gilgo Beach murders on Long Island

Police on Long Island, New York, say they have confirmed the identity of another victim of the unsolved Gilgo Beach murders.

The victim was among 11 sets of remains found on a stretch of highway on Long Island when police were searching along Ocean Parkway for a woman who disappeared in 2010.

Authorities previously identified one of the victims as “Jane Doe #6,” but in an update on Friday police said they now know who she is. Her name will be released “in the near future,” Suffolk County Police Department said in a statement.

HONG KONG (Reuters) – The greetings are awkward and the skyscraper lifts half-empty. But Hong Kong’s cafes are filling and taxis are harder to find as the first wave of financial professionals return to their offices after an easing of coronavirus lockdown rules.
