Should You Buy Intel on Recent Activist Investor Involvement?

Despite a general boom in technology stocks this year, one big notable exception has been Intel (NASDAQ:INTC). Long known as the dominant player in the computer processor space, “Chipzilla” saw it moat against rivals deteriorate further this year due to internal technology problems, and the stock has responded by falling 14.7% in 2020, including dividends. That’s a huge underperformance against the semiconductor sector, which gained a whopping 55.5% last year.

Intel Xe MAX GPU Announced, Features Deep Link Technology To Simultaneously Use iGPU, dGPU and CPU

Intel has announced some more details about its homegrown Xe MAX dedicated GPU and along with it a brand new platform technology: Intel Deep Link. Deep Link basically allows Intel to utilize the integrated graphics, dedicated graphics, and processor simultaneously for workloads where possible. Xe MAX combined with an iGPU beats out an NVIDIA MX 350 in graphics workloads and decimates the same in AI-related workloads.

Intel (INTC)-Argonne Lab Partner on Quantum Computing Research

Intel INTC recently collaborated with Argonne National Laboratory to accelerate research in the quantum computing field.

The latest development follows the announcement of creation of five new quantum research centers across the United States by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). These research centers will be managed by DOE-affiliated National Laboratories.

Q-Next is one such research center, which will be managed by Argonne National Laboratory in association with 20 other partners. These include SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, Universities of Chicago and Minnesota along with technology giants
